[ARCHIVED] Summer Camp - Not Just for Kids!

senior group
Who says summer camps are just for kids? Summer camp can provide a great opportunity to explore the outdoors, regardless of age. The Loudoun County Department of Parks Recreation and Community Services and Area Agency on Aging are offering “Adventure Camp” for ages 55 and older August 21-24, 2017 at Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve in Leesburg, Virginia.

Camp will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday. Participants can explore the preserve, listen to and identify bird species, and learn about native plants, insect life and water quality. Campers can also choose to enhance their adventure through one of two excursions: tubing on Antietam Creek or learning about gun safety from a certified instructor at an area range.

The cost is $75, excluding optional excursions. Space is limited. For more information or to register, call 703-777-0209 or email debra.williams@loudoun.gov.
