The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors (BOS) adopted a resolution approving the names for Phases II and III of the Dulles South Multipurpose Center project during its June 6, 2017 business meeting. The Phase II recreation center will be named “Dulles South Recreation and Community Center” and the Phase III senior center will be named “Dulles South Senior Center.”

Phase I of the project opened in July 2008 and features approximately 24,000 square feet of classrooms, meeting rooms, a large multipurpose room, an activities room, indoor recreation area, senior activity center, kitchen, restrooms and offices. Phase II provides for an 81,000-square-foot addition, with recreation and fitness areas, an elevated running track, a competition and leisure pool, a climbing wall and program facilities. The newly-named Dulles South Community Recreation Center will comprise Phase I and Phase II of the project.

Phase III of the project - Dulles South Senior Center - will provide an additional 17,000 square feet for a full-service senior center featuring office and program space, a small gymnasium, a large multipurpose room with adjoining commercial kitchen, an exercise/fitness room, classrooms, a game room and a computer lab.

Construction of the recreation and senior center components is projected to be complete by late fall/winter 2017, followed by occupancy and a grand opening ceremony. The facility is located at 24950 Riding Center Drive, South Riding, VA 20152. For more information, email prcs@loudoun.gov or call 703-777-0343.
