Flores Enters Guilty Plea in Connection with 2017 Murder of Father
LEESBURG, Virginia – March 26, 2018. Hector Anthony Flores, 28, appeared before the Circuit Court of Loudoun County, in custody, and pleaded guilty to one count of second degree murder.
On September 24, 2017, Flores and his father, Hector Flores Sr., spent most of the day out drinking and watching football with a neighbor. Flores and Flores Sr. began arguing on their drive back to Loudoun County. After returning to the Leesburg home they shared, the two continued to argue, and a physical altercation ensued with the victim, Flores Sr., striking his son twice with closed fists in the ribs. The younger Flores, retrieved a large knife from the kitchen knife block and began stabbing his father, at least twice in the chest and once in the side. The victim then fled the residence seeking help from neighbors. The defendant followed Flores Sr. to a neighbor’s front door and stabbed him at least three more times in the back. Flores then fled the scene, shortly thereafter turning himself in at the nearby Leesburg Police Department headquarters.
Flores is currently being held without bond in the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he awaits his final sentencing hearing on July 31, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in Loudoun Circuit Court. Flores faces up to 40 years in prison.
