Loudoun County, VA – A 20-year-old and a teenager are facing charges after striking two homes while target shooting on a property south of Taylorstown this past weekend.
Nathan A. Lasher, 20, of Lovettsville, was arrested today and charged with reckless handling of a firearm. The juvenile is also facing a petition for reckless handling of a firearm. The name of the juvenile cannot be released due to the fact he is a minor.
Lasher and the juvenile were identified on Sunday and determined to have been target shooting in the area of Loyalty Road. The investigation determined the area where the rounds were being discharged was an open target area with limited safety precautions and visible homes in the distance.
The charges stem from an investigation after LCSO Deputies responded to the 40800 block of Erin’s View Court around 4:51 p.m. on August 5, 2018, for a report of gunfire. The victims reported they were inside their residence when their home was struck by two discharged rounds from a firearm. During a follow-up investigation, an additional home was discovered damaged in the 14000 block of Courtney Meadow Place, as well as a piece of construction equipment at a nearby construction site.
Lasher was released from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a personal recognizance bond.
