Loudoun County, VA – A Maryland man and a Virginia woman have been charged in connection with a series of armed robberies targeting 7-Eleven convenience stores in Northern Virginia.

The suspects were identified through a multi-jurisdictional effort between the Fairfax County Police Department, the Town of Leesburg Police Department and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

In Loudoun County, Carlton L. Frye, III, 22, of Lanham, MD, was charged October 22, 2018, with two counts of robbery and two counts of use of a firearm during the commission of a robbery. The charges are connected to the September 3, 2018, robberies of the 7-Eleven in the 100 block of Dry Mill Road in Leesburg and the 7-Eleven in the 46100 block of Woodshire Drive in Sterling.

Additionally, Frye is charged in Fairfax County with one count of robbery and one count of use of a firearm during the commission of a felony in connection with the August 28, 2018, robbery of the 7-Eleven located in the 2300 block of Soapstone Drive in Reston.

Frye was apprehended in Maryland last night and remains held in Prince George’s County pending extradition to Virginia.

An accomplice in the robberies, Zakiyyah H. Vickers, 21, of Woodbridge, was arrested October 11, 2018, and charged with three counts of robbery in connection with three robberies in Loudoun County on September 3. She remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.

Additional charges are likely in both Fairfax County and Loudoun County.

The Prince William County Police Department, the Prince George’s County Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service assisted in the investigation.
