Loudoun County, VA- Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman is proud to announce that Captain Chris Hines has graduated from the 267th session of the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia.

Captain Hines was one of 230 veteran law enforcement officers who graduated March 17, 2017, from the 10-week program. This session included men and women from 48 states and the District of Columbia, 25 international countries, including three military organizations, and eight federal civilian organizations.

Captain Hines is a 23-year veteran of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. He began his career as a deputy in the Courts and Corrections Division. He has worked in patrol in the Field Operations Division, Operational Support and in the Criminal Investigations Division. Captain Hines is currently the station commander for the Eastern Loudoun Station.

“Participating in the FBI National Academy program is part of my goal to continue to improve service, efficiency and professionalism in the agency,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman “This program increases the professionalism of our leadership staff and enables the agency to network with other large law enforcement agencies everywhere,” added Sheriff Chapman.

Captain Hines is the 25th member of the Loudoun Sheriff’s Office senior staff to have graduated from the FBI Academy since 1970, when then-Sheriff Robert W. Legard completed the training with the 86th session. Captain Hines is the ninth member of current senior staff members who have graduated from this prestigious academy.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy in Quantico, offers 10-weeks of advanced investigative, management and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies.  On average, these officers have 21-years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions. A total of 49,913 graduates now represent the alumni of the FBI National Academy since it began in 1935.

Training for the program is provided by the FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise.
