FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 29, 2016 Contact: Kraig Troxell, Public Information Officer, 703-771-5278 Kraig.Troxell@loudoun.gov Captain Marc Caminiti Graduates from 263rd Session of National FBI Academy Loudoun County, VA- Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman is proud to announce that Captain Marc Caminiti graduated from the 263rd session of the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia. Captain Caminiti was one of 230 veteran law enforcement officers who graduated March 18, 2016, from the 10-week program. This session included men and women from 47 states and the District of Columbia, 27 international countries, including four military organizations, and five federal civilian organizations. Captain Caminiti is a nearly 26-year veteran of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. He began his career as a deputy in the Courts and Corrections Division. He has worked in patrol in the Field Operations Division and in the Criminal Investigations. In April 2016, Captain Caminiti will be assigned as the station commander to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office University Station. He will oversee the building of the new Ashburn Station to be located in the area of Russell Branch Parkway and Loudoun County Parkway. “Participating in the FBI National Academy program is part of my goal to continue to improve service, efficiency and professionalism in the agency,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman “This program increases the professionalism of our leadership staff and enables the agency to network with other large law enforcement agencies everywhere,” added Sheriff Chapman. Captain Caminiti is the 24th member of the Loudoun Sheriff’s Office senior staff to have graduated from the FBI Academy since 1970, when then-Sheriff Robert W. Legard completed the training with the 86th session. Captain Caminiti is the eighth member of current senior staff members who have graduated from this prestigious academy. Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy in Quantico, offers 10-weeks of advanced investigative, management and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies. On average, these officers have 19-years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions. Training for the program is provided by the FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise. ###
