Loudoun County invites members of the public to attend the groundbreaking for the Ashburn Senior Center on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. The ceremony will take place at the construction site on Marblehead Drive in Ashburn. Guests are encouraged to park at Potomac Green Neighborhood Park, 20750 Marblehead Drive, and take the county-provided shuttle to the event location.
The 15,000 square-foot facility will be the first senior center in Ashburn and the fifth center in Loudoun County providing services for the growing senior population. Features of the center include a small gymnasium, a large multipurpose room with pickleball courts, classrooms, a commercial kitchen, a fitness room, a game room, a computer lab and an arts-and-crafts room. The center will be operated by the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services.
The project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2022.
