FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Loudoun County, VA (November 1, 2019) – For the third year in a row, members of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office will be putting down their razors and growing out their beards for No-Shave November. The LCSO is joining law enforcement agencies across the United States in the campaign to raise funds for cancer research and treatment, and to educate residents about preventative measures.
Over the past two years, LCSO Deputies with the support and generosity of our community have raised over $31,000 for No-Shave November. In lieu of shaving, each deputy growing out their facial hair contributes $25 to participate and helps raise monies to fund organizations including the Prevent Cancer Foundation, Fight Colorectal Cancer, and the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The campaign also provides our deputies with the opportunity to provoke conversation and raise cancer awareness.
Deputies have already collected over $4,000 so far and are asking residents to join the Loudoun Sheriff’s Office team or donate to a deputy to help reach our goal of $15,000. Please visit https://sheriff.loudoun.gov/no-shave to make a donation. We appreciate your support and generosity!
