Loudoun County invites members of the public to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for the renovation and expansion of the Sterling Community Center Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at 120 Enterprise Street in Sterling. The event will take place in the center’s existing gymnasium with the groundbreaking ceremony occurring just outside the gymnasium doors.

The project, which will add 2,000 square feet to the existing 18,700 square-foot facility, includes improving the entrances to the center, enlarging the gymnasium, renovating the outdoor pavilion, adding an outdoor amphitheater, creating new patio and lawn areas and expanding the teen recreation area.

The Sterling Community Center project is expected to be completed in 2022. During the renovation, the center will provide services at an adjacent county-owned property at 150 Enterprise Street.

The Sterling Community Center, operated by the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, has been serving the community since 1975. The center offers a variety of programs for all ages, including preschoolers and seniors, as well as party packages, camps, drop-in sports programs and special events like the annual Sterlingfest.

More information, including a link to sign up for updates on the project, can be found at loudoun.gov/sterlingccproject
