Due to weather conditions, Loudoun County has delayed the closure of a portion of Shreve Mill Road from the Greenway to Evergreen Mills Road to all traffic, including emergency vehicles, for a duration of approximately three weeks to reconstruct the road. The road closure is now scheduled to take place on April 13, 2020, weather permitting.
Electronic signage will be posted on the Dulles Greenway and along Shreve Mill Road prior to and during the closure. Upon completion of the Shreve Mill Road realignment work, construction will begin on a turn lane on Evergreen Mills Road to allow traffic to turn onto Shreve Mill Road. Motorists should expect intermittent single-lane closures during construction of the turn lane.
Drivers should use extra caution when traveling through this area and follow all directions from the posted signs and road crews. Detours around the construction zone will be along Evergreen Mills Road north of the Leesburg Executive Airport and north and south along the Dulles Greenway and Sycolin Road.
