[ARCHIVED] Loudoun Courthouse Construction Begins April 6; All Parking Directed to Pennington Garage and Lot

Map of parking for Loudoun County Courthouse, shuttle route and pedestrian path

As construction of the new Loudoun County District Courthouse begins on Monday, April 6, 2020, all parking for the courthouse in downtown Leesburg will be directed to the Pennington Garage and Pennington Lot. The lot and garage are located approximately two blocks from the courthouse off of Church Street NE.

A shuttle will run between the Pennington Garage and Pennington Lot to a new stop on East Market Street, across from the main entrance to the existing courthouse. The shuttle will run approximately every ten minutes, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Please note that social distancing protocols on the shuttle will be enforced. As a result, a fewer number of people than the vehicle’s total capacity will be allowed to ride on each shuttle run.

Visitors to the courthouse may also choose to walk from the parking areas to the courthouse along North and Church Streets. A walking path between the parking areas and the courthouse will be maintained throughout the duration of construction, which is estimated to last more than two years.

The Courts Complex Expansion project includes the design and construction of a new 92,000-square-foot courthouse and renovation of existing courts facilities. The project has also created new parking facilities, such as the Pennington Garage, which has more than 700 parking spaces.
