Loudoun County, VA (June 14, 2021): The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office welcomed three new recruits today who received high marks during the 144th session of the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy (NVCJA).
The new deputies are Zachary Blackall, Anthony Moreno, and Christopher Wechsler.
Deputy Wechsler received the Directors Award for Academic Excellence for the Combined Basic Deputy Sheriff School at the June 14, 2021, graduation ceremony. Deputy Moreno placed second in academics in the combined school. Deputy Blackall was also recognized today, receiving the Firearms Award for the overall class. Deputy Wechsler also assisted with the opening of the ceremony with a stirring rendition of the National Anthem.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office continues to attract highly qualified candidates and in the past two years has hired 62 pre-certified law enforcement officers from local police departments in Virginia, and an additional 18 sworn officers from out of state. The new hires have filled positions in patrol, courts, and corrections.
