The date for the relocation of the Douglass Community Center has been revised again. The center will open in its new location at 705-H East Market Street in Leesburg Thursday, August 19, 2021. Phone numbers will remain the same. An indoor version of the Douglass Dunes sand play area will open at the new location at a later date. Announcements will be posted to facebook.com/douglasscommunitycenter.
The community center is being relocated during renovation of the Douglass School. Renovation of the school, which houses the community center and Loudoun County Public Schools Alternative Education program, is scheduled for completion in late 2022. The community center’s exterior features, including the pavilion, rink, playground and the Douglass Dunes sand play area, were closed earlier this month and will remain closed throughout the renovation.
