Loudoun County has again received the Outstanding Achievement Award in Popular Annual Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The award is for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 Popular Annual Financial Report (PDF).
The award recognizes jurisdictions that create annual financial reports specifically designed to be readily accessible and easily understandable to members of the general public who do not have a background in public finance. To receive the award, the report must meet high standards of creativity, presentation, understandability and reader appeal. This is the fourth year in a row that Loudoun has earned the award for the Popular Annual Financial Report.
The Popular Annual Financial Report for FY 2020 is part of the Loudoun County government’s commitment to transparency. The report is intended as a companion document to the award-winning Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, presenting the highlights of the county’s complex financial activities in a concise and accessible format.
In July, Loudoun received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the GFOA for the FY 2020 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (PDF).
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving more than 21,000 government finance professionals in the United States and Canada.
