Loudoun County is scheduled to begin milling, paving and pavement marking operations at the intersection of George Washington Boulevard, Loudoun County Parkway and Riverside Parkway on December 16, 2021. The work is expected to be completed on December 17, weather permitting. The roadwork will require lane closures, turn restrictions and through traffic restrictions for roads terminating at this intersection, including George Washington Boulevard, Lakeview Center Plaza, Loudoun County Parkway and Riverside Parkway.
The work will take place daily from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. During this time frame, motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes to avoid the following through lane and turn lane restrictions:
- George Washington Boulevard – Approaching the intersection southbound on George Washington Boulevard, there will be no through traffic access to Lakeview Center Plaza or left turn access to Loudoun County Parkway. Right turn lanes onto westbound Riverside Parkway to Ashburn Village Boulevard will be open.
- Lakeview Center Plaza – Approaching the intersection northbound on Lakeview Center Plaza, there will be no through traffic access to George Washington Boulevard or left turn access to westbound Riverside Parkway. Right turn lanes onto Loudoun County Parkway to Route 7 will be open.
- Loudoun County Parkway – Approaching the intersection northbound on Loudoun County Parkway, there will be no left turn access to Lakeview Center Plaza. A right turn lane accessing George Washington Boulevard and through traffic access to Riverside Parkway will be open.
- Riverside Parkway – Approaching the intersection eastbound on Riverside Parkway, there will be no left turn access to George Washington Boulevard. Flaggers will assist with right turn access to Lakeview Center Plaza. Through traffic access to Loudoun County Parkway will be open.
Electronic message boards and flaggers will be posted prior to and during the construction to alert and guide the public. Drivers should use extra caution when traveling through this area during work hours and follow all directions from the posted signs, road crews and law enforcement personnel.
