UPDATE: Leesburg Teenager Faces Attempted Murder Charges in Shooting

Loudoun County, VA (January 19, 2022) – A 17-year-old from Leesburg has been charged with five counts of Attempted Murder after he discharged a firearm multiple times at an occupied vehicle on Saturday.   

LCSO Deputies initially responded to the area of Boxwood Place in Ashburn shortly after 1 a.m. on January 15 after a resident reported hearing gunfire in the area. 

The investigation determined the incident involved two groups of teenagers and stemmed from an earlier altercation. Some of the subjects later confronted the victims in the area of Boxwood Place, and the teenage suspect shot at the victim’s vehicle as they drove away. The subjects and the victims all fled the area. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Detectives with the LCSO later identified the 17-year-old as a suspect and Loudoun County Juvenile Court Services issued the petitions on January 19. The teenager was served with the petitions today and he is being held at the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center.

Loudoun County, VA (January 15, 2022) – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shots fired incident that occurred overnight on Boxwood Place in Ashburn where a firearm was discharged at a vehicle. 

LCSO Deputies responded to the area shortly after 1 a.m. January 15 after a resident reported hearing gunfire. 

A preliminary investigation has determined the incident involved two groups and stemmed from an earlier altercation. Some of the subjects later confronted the victims in the area of Boxwood Place, and one of the subjects discharged a firearm at the victim’s vehicle as they drove away. No injuries or property damage were reported.  

The subjects and the victims all fled the area. 

The LCSO later located a victim involved in the incident and detectives continue to work to identify all of the subjects involved.
