For Immediate Release

Final Update – A Sterling man is back in custody after fleeing from authorities while handcuffed Thursday night after deputies responded to a domestic-related call at the Parc Dulles apartments.

The subject, Mi-Allah J. Grant, 21, is charged with two counts of Felony Assault and Battery on Law Enforcement, Obstruction of Justice, Fleeing from a Law Enforcement Officer and one count of Preventing Law Enforcement from Making an Arrest. Grant was charged additionally with Larceny (alcohol), Destruction of Property, and Unlawful Entry of Property after he was taken into custody by LCSO Deputies inside the screen porch of a residence in the area of Midday Lane. He was located at approximately 9:30 a.m. this morning.

Grant remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.

LCSO Deputies were initially called to an apartment in the 21100 block of Skidmore Terrace for a trespassing complaint where the subject entered his family’s apartment where he reportedly did not have access to the residence.

As deputies were discussing with the family member how the subject entered the apartment, he began to intervene and attempted to prevent the deputy from further investigating the matter. He then refused to follow the deputy’s commands, and as the deputy attempted to detain him, he began to actively resist the deputy. A struggle ensued and during the struggle, it was discovered he was carrying a firearm. The firearm was secured, and the subject was taken into custody as he continued to ignore the deputies’ commands.

As deputies were clearing the scene, the subject began to complain that he needed his handcuffs adjusted. As the deputy removed the subject from the patrol car, he fled on foot to a wooded area and a foot pursuit ensued.

A search was conducted in the area Thursday night and throughout the overnight by LCSO Deputies and K9 Units with the assistance of the Virginia State Police, the Fairfax County Police Department helicopter, and a K9 Unit with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public for their assistance.
