Loudoun County invites members of the public to enjoy the first full day of operations at the Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park on Saturday, September 24, 2022, with special events planned from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. To commemorate the opening of the park, the following activities will be available throughout the facility for the public to enjoy as they discover the new park:
- Bounce houses
- Food trucks
- Lawn games
- Nature Center - Open House with nature display and children’s crafts
- Observe team practices on various sports fields
- Park Tour Shuttle
- The Lodge - Open House
The public is also invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, September 23, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. with members of the Board of Supervisors, representatives of the departments of Parks, Recreation and Community Services and Transportation and Capital Infrastructure and other county officials.
The 257-acre regional park is located off Evergreen Mills Road in Aldie, between the Brambleton and Willowsford communities. It will be operated by the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services.
