The Board of Supervisors has adopted the 2023 Loudoun County Energy Strategy, which provides a blueprint to achieve the county’s long-term vision for a community that uses less energy and has lower greenhouse gas emissions while ensuring that energy is clean, reliable and affordable for all residents and businesses in Loudoun County.
The strategy includes three goal areas:
The 2023 Loudoun County Energy Strategy, which updates the county’s previous energy strategy adopted in 2009, was developed after a comprehensive public process that involved input from a variety of stakeholders including members of the Board of Supervisors and the Board-appointed Environmental Commission, local and regional partner organizations and the general public.
Energy Strategy Implementation
Implementation of the 2023 Energy Strategy is expected to be phased in over several years and will be led by the Loudoun County Department of General Services, which will provide regular progress reports to the public and Board of Supervisors, including plans to implement the recommended actions in the strategy.
