Conversation with Carol Smith, Executive Director of Crossroads Jobs
“Jobs. Dignity. Hope.”
What does Crossroads Jobs provide? Crossroads Jobs is a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization and we provide individualized job search and placement assistance to those age 18 and older through a free, structured program. We specialize in tailored job services to those who many also have barriers to employment success.
Tell us more about your program. The first step is attending an orientation, then completing an in-depth application followed by a one-on-one interview with one of our five job counselors. The applicant will work closely and regularly with their job counselor to identify a job plan. Attendance at three workshops is also part of the program: Interviewing Skills, Conflict Resolution and Eyes-On-The-Prize/Setting SMART Goals. Once the applicant is placed with a local employer, our staff provide post-placement support and job coaching. Two of our job counselors are bilingual in Spanish/English and one job counselor has extensive experience and training as a job counselor/job coach for persons with disabilities.
How do I get started? To start the process, applicants can contact Crossroads Jobs by emailing findajob@crossroadsjobs.org, visiting our website at crossroadsjobs.org or calling 703-771-4112 (Leesburg)/571-313-1813 (Sterling – Se Habla Español).
Where is Crossroads located? Crossroads Jobs offices are located in Leesburg and Sterling. Due to COVID-19, the program can be accessed remotely or by an in-person appointment.
