Overview
Gwen Thompson Briar Patch Park consists of five-acres in Sterling Park along Sterling Boulevard. The picnic pavilion can be reserved. The park has an ADA-accessible trail from the parking lot to the restrooms, pavilion and tennis court.
NEW: After an unanticipated delay, Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) has announced the resurfacing of the Gwen Thompson Briar Patch Park playground will now begin on September 11, 2023 (weather permitting), after initial plans to begin the project in August.
To ensure patrons' safety and equipment access, the playground and the national fitness court will be temporarily closed during the resurfacing project. The public is asked to respect any construction fencing and signs on the property. The resurfacing is expected to be completed by late October 2023, subject to weather conditions.
