The goal of Loudoun County Commuter Services is to assist people who live, work or play in Loudoun with programs that make it easier to get around and commute to work. We encourage the use of cost-effective alternatives to driving alone, such as buses, Metrorail, carpools, vanpools, biking, walking and more.

Transit in Loudoun County

  • Loudoun County Transit Bus Services include commuter bus service to Washington, D.C., Rosslyn, The Pentagon, and Crystal City, local bus service throughout Loudoun County, and paratransit services. 
  • Silver Line Metrorail service provided by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority (WMATA) connects to and from the Dulles Airport, Loudoun Gateway and Ashburn Metrorail Stations in Loudoun County. 

Sharing Rides

  • Carpools are a simple and effective alternative to driving alone. Find a shared ride with someone who lives and works near you. 
  • Vanpools can be a convenient, reliable and cost-effective choice for people who live 15 or more miles from work and maintain a consistent schedule.

Other Commuter Alternatives

  • Bike or Walk to work in Loudoun County on a network of trails and shared-use paths. All Loudoun County Transit Buses are equipped with bicycle racks. 
  • Telework allows employees to work from home or closer to home one or more days per week.
