Clerk of the Circuit Court

  • The offices of the Clerk of the Circuit Court are open to the public; no appointment necessary except for probate matters.
  • The Public Services Division offers both in-person and virtual marriage license and notary oath appointments. Make an appointment here.
  • The Land Records Division accepts drop offs of recordings at the land records customer service counter.
  • Public kiosks for criminal and civil digital records are available on the fourth floor of the Courts Complex directly across from the elevators and inside the Clerk’s Office on the third floor.

The Clerk of the Circuit Court serves as the recorder of deeds and probate judge, issues marriage licenses and is the official court administrator for all civil and criminal court cases. In this latter capacity, the Clerk creates and maintains all court files and records, prepares court orders and jury lists, contacts jurors and issues summons and court processes.
