About Board of Supervisors Meetings

Monthly Business Meetings and Public Hearing Schedule

  • Business Meetings: First and third Tuesday of the month, 4:00 p.m.
  • Public Hearing: Wednesday of the week following the first business meeting of the month, 6:00 p.m.
  • Dates and times of Board of Supervisors meetings, including those of the Board’s Standing Committees, are posted on the Loudoun County Government Master Calendar.
  • In general, board meetings, public hearings, board committee meetings and workshops are open to the public. However, the Board sometimes schedules executive sessions to discuss issues relating to personnel, legal matters or land acquisition. These meetings are closed to the public.

Public Input: How to Sign Up to Speak

The Board of Supervisors encourages people to sign up to speak during the Board’s public comment periods at business meetings and public hearings. Members of the public are typically given at least two minutes to speak. If requested at sign up, speakers may deliver their comments remotely.

First Tuesday Business Meeting

  • The Board’s first business meeting of the month features one public input session that begins as early as 6:00 p.m. and is limited to a maximum time of 90 minutes. 
    • The deadline to sign up in advance is noon on the day of the meeting. Call 703-777-0200 to sign up in advance.
    • At the time speakers sign up in advance, speakers may choose to provide their comments either in person or remotely by phone.
  • Members of the public also may sign up to speak in person beginning 30 minutes before the start of the meeting on a first-come, first-served basis. To sign up in person, speakers should visit the clerk in the board room, which is located in the Government Center in Leesburg.
  • Members of the public may speak on any topic during business meetings.

Can You Speak for Someone Else?

For each public input session, speakers may sign up to speak for: 

  • themselves;
  • their spouse;
  • on behalf of an organization, such as an HOA or community-based group; or 
  • on behalf of those needing special accommodations.

Meetings of the Board's Advisory Bodies

  • Meeting information, including agendas, meeting packets and schedules, are linked online from the advisory body's webpage, which are posted at loudoun.gov/advisory
  • Schedules and log in information for virtual meetings is posted on the county's public calendar at loudoun.gov/calendar.

Interpretation Services for Public Input

Any member of the public who would like to request an interpreter to be present at a Board meeting to translate their public input may do so at least 48 hours in advance of a meeting. Procuring an interpreter for less frequently spoken languages may require additional time.

Meeting Room Location

Meetings of the Board of Supervisors typically take place in the Board Room on the first floor of the Loudoun County Government Center at 1 Harrison Street, S.E., Leesburg, 20175. Meetings of the Board’s standing committees typically take place in the Board Room or the Dulles Room, both of which are located on the first floor of the government center.
