[ARCHIVED] Permitting and Land Development Service Impacts Begin This Week in Preparation for LandMARC Launch

In preparation for the launch of Loudoun County’s new online land management system, LandMARC, some services for permitting and land development customers will not be available. Impacts to services begin this week and continue through the launch of the new system on August 14. 

Customer Impacts Prior to Launch

  • Intake of new applications will be very limited.
  • Payments will not be accepted. 
  • Edits/updates to existing applications/records, including resubmissions, cannot be made. 
  • Inspections will not be scheduled by WAIRS or by telephone.
  • Permits will not be issued. 

Submission, Payment & Scheduling Deadlines

Below is the full schedule of deadlines to complete land development activities prior to the limited-service period.

  • Submit an application or related documentation
    • Online, by mail, or in the drop box - 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27
    • In-person – 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28
  • Make a payment
    • Online – 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27
    • In-person – 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28
    • By ACH – 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26
    • Proffer Payment – 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26
  • Schedule an inspection 
    • 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28. 
    • WAIRS will shut down on Friday, July 28. Beginning July 24, inspections may be requested for the week of July 24 and Monday, August 14 - Friday, August 18. Those inspection requests will transfer to LandMARC and the inspection results will appear in LandMARC. Inspections cannot be requested by WAIRS or by telephone for July 29-August 13. If you have an urgent inspection need after July 28 related to hazardous building conditions or occupancy permit needed for settlement, please call 703-777-0220, option 1.
  • Submit a LOLA comment
    • 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28

Customer Service Counters Remain Open

The in-person customer service counters on the second floor of the Loudoun County Government Center at 1 Harrison St. SE in Leesburg will remain open during this time for general help related to permitting and land development, such as questions about county processes or conducting research on a property. In addition, county staff will continue to be available over the phone and through email.
