[ARCHIVED] Five Things to Know About LandMARC

The original item was published from August 7, 2023 to August 4, 2023 5:09 PM

LandMARC is planned to launch on Monday, August 14, 2023. Review these five things to keep in mind as you’re getting started. Watch this video to get a brief introduction to the system before launch.

1. WAIRS and e-Permits have permanently shut down.

The systems used for online building inspection requests (WAIRS) and online submissions for residential trade permit contractors (e-Permits) have both permanently shut down.

All permit applications and inspection requests will be done in LandMARC beginning Monday, August 14.

Inspection requests submitted in WAIRS for Monday, August 14 - Friday, August 18 will transfer to LandMARC and the inspection results will appear in LandMARC.

2. Customers must register for a new account.

LandMARC accounts will be required to apply for a permit or plan, request inspections, or manage active projects. Accounts from other county systems, such as WAIRS or e-Permits, will not carry over. All customers must create new accounts to do business in the system. If you have active applications with the county as of July 28, you are encouraged to sign up for your LandMARC account with the same email address you included on your application. This will make it easier to connect your existing applications to your account.

Accounts are not required for searching public records or using the map feature.

3. All credit or debit card payments will be paid through LandMARC.

All credit or debit card payments will be processed online through LandMARC. During in-person services, credit/debit card payments will be processed online through LandMARC as well rather than swiping a card on a machine.

If you are paying fees and do not use LandMARC, you must pay with cash or check.

4. Plans will no longer be submitted in Bluebeam.

All plans will be submitted directly into LandMARC as attachments. Customers will no longer submit plans through a Bluebeam invitation. All comments on plans will appear in LandMARC. All resubmissions will also be uploaded through LandMARC.

5. Loudoun Online Land Applications (LOLA) will be replaced.

On Monday, August 14, a new tool will be used to submit online comments for land use applications.
