The Virginia Court Clerks Association (VCCA) announced the appointment of Loudoun County Clerk of Circuit Court Gary M. Clemens to Co-Chair of the Public Relations Committee. The Public Relations Committee pursues community education programs and develops connections with legislators to provide better awareness of the vital role that Clerks of Circuit Court play in Virginia and in local government. Clemens has served as co-chair of the Public Relations Committee for the past 15 years.
Clemens was appointed to this post by VCCA President Tereas Dobbins, who was elected recently by the full membership at the annual convention of the VCCA. “I am honored to appoint Gary Clemens to these leadership positions in our association,” stated VCCA President Teresa Dobbins, who is the Clerk of Circuit Court for Powhatan County. “Gary has been an exemplary leader in our association and in Virginia. He has worked diligently and honorably to promote fair and equitable access to justice.” During his 24-years of service as Clerk of the Circuit Court in Loudoun County, Gary has offered assistance and mentorship to new clerks of circuit court throughout Virginia. “Gary’s leadership in the VCCA and his willingness to share his experience with other clerks of court provide an inspiration to those who have been fortunate to work with him,” said Dobbins.
In addition to this leadership role, Clemens has served on the Executive Board, Legislative Committee, the Education Committee and served as President of the association previously. Clemens served on a committee that created a statewide career development program for circuit court deputy clerks in Virginia. This program offers high-level training programs for deputy clerks to better equip them to provide superior customer service, analyze clerk’s office operations and provides a professional certification for deputy clerks.
