Officers & Meetings

Officers

The SHOCAP Officers in charge of the program also work with a Serious or Habitual Offender (SHO)'s family and school, as well as other social service agencies, to ensure that all needs are met, and that appropriate resources are utilized to give the youth an opportunity to get their life back on track.

Efforts are also made to see that their educational needs are met, and job / career opportunities are explored. In directing the juvenile toward productive choices, much emphasis is placed on educational / vocational needs.

Meetings

SHOCAP meetings are held quarterly. Members of the SHOCAP Committee include representatives from JCSU, Loudoun County Public Schools, Loudoun County Mental Health, Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, and local police departments.

At the meetings, the cases of current SHOs are reviewed to determine if any changes need to be made to their supervision and new cases are brought before the committee for consideration. Also, any SHOs who are currently before the court are discussed for possible disposition recommendations.
