If you are new to Loudoun County, need to purchase a license for a new dog, or your dog’s rabies information is not current in the database, you will not be able to purchase your license online until you submit a current rabies certificate for your dog. You may scan and send the current rabies vaccination record by email to Animal Services. We will then provide information needed to purchase the license online.
Please note, dog license expiration dates run concurrent with your dog's rabies vaccination date. As a result, your first license purchase may be less than a full year.
To pay online you will need your dog license renewal notice (PDF) and your dog’s rabies vaccination information must be currently on file in our database to renew online. Read detailed instructions (PDF) on completing your online transaction.
Please note that credit card convenience fees will be assessed for online payment - $1.95 for MasterCard, Visa and Discover and $1 for debit cards. Dog licenses may be purchased at multiple locations. Please bring a current rabies vaccination certificate for your dog(s) and a dog license application (PDF).
Replacement tags are available for purchase for $1 at the Treasurer’s Office in Sterling and Leesburg. You can also mail in a check made payable to:
