This project provides for the installation of a traffic signal and turn lanes at the intersection of Braddock Road (Route 620) and Supreme Drive (Route 1257) and Summerall Drive (Route 1258).
In addition, the 0.73-mile segment of Braddock Road near the intersection will be widened from two to four lanes and a shared use path will be installed along the north side of Braddock Road from the end of the existing path at the Greenfield Crossing community to the existing path at the Braddock Corner community.
At the January 17, 2023, Business meeting, the Board of Supervisors adopted a Resolution to award a contract to construct the Braddock Road and Summerall Drive and Supreme Drive Intersection Improvements project to Van Metre Homes at Braddock, L.L.C. Van Metre’s proffered offsite improvements include widening Braddock Road from two lanes to four lanes between Royal Hunter Drive and Gum Spring Road (Route 659).
A groundbreaking ceremony for the start of construction of the Braddock Road at the Summerall Drive and Supreme Drive Intersection project was held on May 10, 2023, along Braddock Road near the future project site in Aldie.
