The event highlights shelter cats and small animals looking for new homes. During this promotion, kittens under 6 months of age are $75, cats aged 7 months to 6 years are $25 and cats who are 7 years of age and over have no adoption fee. Small animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils and small birds, also have no adoption fee.

Individuals who are interested in adopting a cat or small animal can visit the shelter at 39820 Charles Town Pike, Waterford, Mondays and Tuesdays from 12 to 6 p.m.; Wednesdays from 12 to 8 p.m.; and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 4 p.m. Photos of adoptable cats and small animals as well as directions to the animal shelter can be found at www.loudoun.gov/animals.

LCAS operates the county’s Animal Shelter, which provides for companion animals that have been surrendered by their owners or found stray in the county. The Animal Shelter also offers pets for adoption. The Animal Control Division enforces local and state animal laws and investigates reports of animal cruelty and vicious or destructive animals.
