    On June 1, 1956, Mary Elizabth Fellers and Shelby Jean Venable (age 16) were last seen alive at a bus stop in Laurel, Maryland. Mary's brother reported seeing the girls enter a vehicle at approximately 8:15 a.m. 

    On 06/14/1956, the body of Shelby Venable was discovered in the North Fork of Cacoctin Creek near the intersection of Route 9 (Charles Town Pike) and Route 287 (Berlin Turnpike). 

    Several suspects were interviewed, and the case went cold.
