The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with Loudoun County Public Schools, has developed a pilot program to assist emergency responders and individuals with Autism, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and their families to successfully manage emergency situations.
The program allows families to provide critical information to first responders before they arrive. Information provided includes methods of communication, sensory and medical issues, as well as approach and de-escalation techniques.
