Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) will host a public meeting to address questions from the community and discuss the plans for the proposed improvements to Mickie Gordon Memorial Park on Thursday, June 29, 2023, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., at the American Legion building, 111 The Plains Road, Middleburg.
Through the county’s legislative land use process, PRCS would request a Special Exception to the county’s zoning ordinance to add a cricket pitch and other amenities to Mickie Gordon Memorial Park to accommodate the growing demand for cricket facilities across the county. In addition, there is the potential for additional lighting, trails, increased open space, improved access and updates to parking.
The Special Exception process allows the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors opportunities to review the request, hear public comment on the proposal and impose appropriate conditions or restrictions on the use to minimize any negative impacts.
