Bike to Work Day

Registration is Open for Bike to Work Day, Friday, May 17, 2024

The annual Bike to Work Day event celebrates a healthy and fun way to get to work at 110 different pit stops throughout the Metropolitan Washington region. Participants will ride to a pit stop, pick-up free t-shirts and giveaways, and enjoy refreshments before beginning the workday.

Adults planning to participate in this free event are encouraged to register online to pick up a T-shirt at one of our Loudoun County pit stops. Both pit stops are adjacent to the Washington and Old Dominion (W&OD) Trail in:

  • Leesburg at Raflo Park at 345 Harrison Street SE, from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.; and
  • Sterling, just east of Route 28, at the Sterling Ruritan Club, 183 Ruritan Road, from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

A third pit stop in Loudoun County will be hosted by Full Distance Physical Therapy & Wellness:

  • Purcellville at 130 S. 20th Street, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

To find your pit stop, use the Find Your Pit Stop tool.

Participants are invited to share their photos by tagging Loudoun County social media pages and adding the hashtag #BTWD2024.

Tell Us Why You Love Bike to Work Day

“I have participated in Bike to Work Day for many years (I think I have about 8-10 T-shirts!) I bicycle to work every day - rain or shine, hot or cold. I see very few commuters on my route, so this day is a treat! Bike to Work Day is a chance to socialize with like-minded cyclists of all ages and abilities. I greatly appreciate all the planning and effort everyone puts in to make this day such a success.”

"I am excited for Bike to Work Day this year. I bike 17 miles each way from Leesburg to Reston on the W&OD for work a few times a week. This has helped me lose over 50 pounds over the last two years!"
Kevin K.
Leesburg, VA

“I first participated in Bike to Work Day a few years ago with a co-worker. It was so enjoyable that I have made it part of my spring through fall routine. In addition to the benefits of exercise, I have found that I look forward to the days I get to ride my bike to work. I feel more energized and productive. I truly recommend that everyone try it at least once.”
