Street Name Signs

Loudoun County maintains most (but not all) street name signs in the county but outside of incorporated Towns. These are the familiar blue signs with white lettering.

While these signs are helpful to the public, the primary purpose of the signs is life safety. These signs allow faster response by ambulances, fire engines and sheriff's deputies.

Report

If you find a street name sign is missing or damaged, you can report it by submitting a request in Loudoun Express Request (LEx).

If the signs are on the overhead arms at intersections with traffic lights, those signs are maintained by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and can be reported by calling 703-737-2000 and asking for Maintenance.

VDOT also maintains all STOP, speed limit, and diamond-shaped regulatory signs, as well as traffic signals.
