A segment of Evergreen Mills Road, between Creighton Road and Ryan Road, will be closed to all traffic from 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26 until approximately 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024, to accommodate necessary construction. During the closure period, all through traffic along Evergreen Mills Road will be required to detour around the construction area via Creighton Road, Northstar Boulevard and Ryan Road (PDF).
The temporary closure of the Evergreen Mills Road segment was approved by the Virginia Department of Transportation during Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) spring break, when traffic in the area is typically reduced, due to an unexpected need to excavate a trench across the roadway to install water and sewer infrastructure to LCPS’ new Watson Mountain Middle School, which is currently under construction. The work area is located on Evergreen Mills Road, just southeast of Ryan Road. In accordance with Loudoun County’s noise ordinance, construction will occur throughout the day and overnight hours to expedite completion of work and minimize the impact of the temporary closure of Evergreen Mills Road.
Evergreen Mills Road is expected to reopen to traffic by noon on Friday, March 29. If the work is completed sooner, the county will announce the reopening for the community’s awareness.
