Loudoun County is scheduled to replace the cooling towers on the Loudoun County Courthouse at 18. E. Market St. in Leesburg beginning after business hours Friday, November 10, and continuing through Sunday, November 12, 2023. Nearby residents will hear some construction noise during the maintenance work. There will also be temporary road closures and detours.
As approved by the Town of Leesburg, the expected impacts are:
- Friday, November 10:
- At 10:00 p.m., a section of King Street between Market and Cornwall Streets will be closed.
- Construction and large vehicle noise may be heard during the overnight hours.
- Saturday, November 11:
- King Street will reopen at 6:00 a.m.
- Construction noise may be heard until 8:00 p.m.
- Sunday, November 12:
- Construction noise may be heard between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The new cooling towers are to be fully functioning when the Loudoun County Courts Complex opens Monday, November 13.
