[ARCHIVED] Loudoun Commissioner of the Revenue to Hold Tax Relief Seminars

Loudoun County Commissioner of the Revenue Robert S. Wertz Jr. has scheduled free information sessions to familiarize residents who are age 65 years or older, or are totally and permanently disabled, with the county’s generous real estate and vehicle tax relief programs. 

Loudoun County residents who are age 65 or older, or are disabled, and have income and wealth below established limits may benefit from a reduction in the amount of property taxes they pay. Program participants saved over $9 million in real estate and vehicle property taxes in tax year 2023.   

Anyone interested in learning about the tax relief program is encouraged to attend one of the free sessions being offered throughout the county. No appointment or RSVP is required. All sessions begin at 10:30 a.m. The schedule is as follows: 

  • Monday, February 26, 2024 – Ashburn Library, 43316 Hay Road, Ashburn
  • Wednesday, February 28, 2024 – Cascades Library, 21030 Whitfield Place, Potomac Falls
  • Monday, March 4, 2024 – Purcellville Library, 220 East Main St., Purcellville
  • Monday, March 11, 2024 – Rust Library, 380 Old Waterford Road NW, Leesburg

For more information or to obtain an application, interested residents may: 

  • Visit loudoun.gov/taxrelief.
  • Call the Commissioner of the Revenue’s Tax Exemptions & Deferrals Division at 703-737-8857.
  • Visit one of the Commissioner of the Revenue’s offices in the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison St. SE in Leesburg or 46000 Center Oak Plaza in Sterling. 

Note that applications are scheduled to be available by March 1, 2024.
