Loudoun County is issuing a correction to misinformation regarding the April 16, 2024, Board of Supervisors agenda and the Board’s intentions that has been circulated to Loudoun residents, prompting inquiries to the county.
A communication that has been circulated online falsely implies that the Board of Supervisors may bring a “cease-fire resolution” to Tuesday’s Board meeting and become the first local governing body to weigh in on the Gaza conflict. In fact, the Board’s April 16 agenda does not include the “adoption of an anti-Israel resolution,” or any resolution on any topic related to the current Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. Additionally, the Board of Supervisors has taken no formal action on this topic and the Board has indicated no intention of bringing forward any formal action on any related topic for consideration.
Members of the public are welcome to provide public input to the Board in accordance with the Board’s rules. Loudoun County is issuing this statement to correct the record publicly after it came to the county’s attention that members of the public have signed up to provide public input on a matter that is neither on the Board’s April 16 agenda nor scheduled to be on any future Board of Supervisors agenda.
