Assistant Loudoun County Administrator Valmarie Turner has earned the Credentialed Manager designation from ICMA, the International City/County Management Association.
To receive the prestigious ICMA credential, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; meet educational requirements; and have demonstrated a commitment to high standards of the profession and to lifelong learning and professional development. Managers are recognized by ICMA through a peer review credentialing process, with the designation granted by the ICMA Executive Board. Of the more than 13,000 local government professionals who belong to ICMA, about 1,300 hold the Credentialed Manager designation.
Turner joins Loudoun County Administrator Tim Hemstreet, Deputy County Administrator Charles Yudd and Assistant County Administrators John Sandy and Monica Spells as holders of the credential.
Turner, who began her service with Loudoun County in 2017, oversees the Loudoun County Departments of Building and Development, Planning and Zoning, Economic Development and the Office of Housing.
