INVESTIGATION INTO THE JUNE 17 DEATH OF NABRA HASSANEN
Over the past several days, this office has received numerous inquiries regarding the investigation into the death of Nabra Hassanen. Specifically, questions were raised as to whether or not Loudoun County would take a role in a future prosecution. The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Offices for Loudoun County and Fairfax County have been in continual communication throughout the investigation. “Mr. Morrogh and I discussed the case and are in complete agreement. Our goals are the same, to see that the entire scope of these crimes are not separated, while maintaining a focus on maximizing offender accountability,” said Commonwealth’s Attorney Jim Plowman. “When it was determined that either County was legally positioned to accomplish those goals, it made perfect sense for Fairfax County to retain the matter since the Fairfax County Police Department conducted the investigation.” The Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office will lend any assistance if requested. Any future inquiries regarding this matter should be directed to Fairfax County authorities.
