Anibal Lopez Lopez has been sentenced to 28 years in the penitentiary with six years suspended, for a total of 22 years of active incarceration. He will also be subject to five years of supervised probation and will be required to register as a sex offender upon the completion of his prison term. This sentence is in accordance with the plea agreement reached in the case.
The Loudoun County Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney takes sexual offenses very seriously and this sentence serves as an example of the consequences for such actions. We hope this brings some measure of justice to the victim and their family.
“As Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney, I am committed to ensuring that justice is served for victims of crime. It is my sincere pleasure to play a role in helping these individuals attain closure and move forward with their lives,” said Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Shara Krogh.
