MARYLAND MAN SENTENCED FOR CARNAL KNOWLEDGE OF A CHILD
JUDGE IMPOSES 6 YEARS AND 11 MONTHS
LEESBURG, Virginia – June 30, 2016. David Anthony Fusco, 27, appeared before Judge Douglas L. Fleming, Jr. in Loudoun County Circuit Court for sentencing on two felony charges of carnal knowledge. Fleming imposed a total active sentence of six years and eleven months in the Virginia Department of Corrections.
In the late fall of 2013, Fusco began an internet relationship with a fourteen year old Loudoun County girl. The two met on the online website meetme.com. After meeting online, Fusco and the victim continued to communicate via Facebook, Kik, and text messages.
In December 2013, Fusco traveled from Maryland to Loudoun County to meet the victim at a local park near her home. After the victim got into Fusco’s vehicle, the two began to kiss. A short time later, Fusco locked the doors of the vehicle and told the victim that she couldn’t leave unless she engaged in sexual activity with him. The victim frightened and unsure what to do, complied with Fusco’s request. The victim later reported the incident to her parents, who immediately contacted the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
Fusco entered pleas of guilty to both felony counts on January 22, 2016. He acknowledged the he knew the victim and also admitted that he had traveled from Maryland to Virginia to meet the victim in person and engage in sexual contact with her.
Fusco received an additional three years and one month of suspended time and is prohibited from any contact with the victim or her family. Upon his release from prison, Fusco will be placed on ten years of supervised probation. Pursuant to Virginia’s Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry Act, Fusco will also be required to register as a sex offender.
