Fire-Rescue and Law Enforcement Training to be Conducted in Arcola
For a three month period, beginning February 27 through May 31, 2018, personnel from the Loudoun County Fire and Rescue System, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and the Leesburg Police Department will be conducting various training exercises at the old Arcola Volunteer Fire and Rescue Station, located at 24244 Stone Springs Road in Arcola, Virginia.
These training exercises afford members of fire-rescue and law enforcement the opportunity to practice critical emergency response procedures in a realistic setting. Incorporating both fire-rescue and law enforcement agencies into these drills allows for heightened coordination and operations in true emergencies.
The multi-agency drills, scheduled to take place in afternoon sessions throughout the three month period, involve a variety of scenarios and will at times be in the public view. Members of the media and the public are advised that there will be emergency personnel and vehicles in the area during these times. Throughout the scenarios, units will utilize several radio channels to simulate emergency communications. Prior to each session, the training coordinator will announce “training exercise” on the designated radio channel to minimize confusion for any members of the public or media who may overhear radio traffic.
Due to the nature of the training, the exercise is closed to the public. Members of the media may contact Laura Rinehart at 571-233-1649 or by
email with inquiries or to coordinate a demonstration with the training personnel.
