Loudoun County Officials Break Ground on New Lucketts Fire Station

Lucketts FS610 Groundbreaking 9-25-19 Group B

On Wednesday, September 25, 2019, officials from the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System (LC-CFRS), Loudoun County Government, Loudoun County Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure, and the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors gathered to break ground on the new 18,000 square foot facility.

County Administrator Tim Hemstreet emceed the ceremony with Loudoun Board of Supervisors Chair-at-large Phyllis Randall, Catoctin District Supervisor Geary Higgins and Fire and Rescue System Chief Keith H. Johnson addressing the attendees. Each speaker touted the hard work that each department does to bring these projects to fruition and demonstrated gratitude and support for all of Loudoun’s first responders.

The new Lucketts Fire and Rescue Station will be located at 42419 Lucketts Road, which is the property immediately adjacent to the current station. The new site remains an ideal location to provide emergency services to the approximately 6,325 residents and 40 square miles contained within the Lucketts response area.

The station design was configured to provide staff with a modern, safe and functional facility that will allow for quick response times to emergency vehicles and apparatus and will feature larger drive through bays, more storage for emergency equipment, upgraded residential and living areas as well as administrative offices. The station will continue to staff an engine, ambulance, tanker and brush unit 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Lucketts Fire Station #10 is also home to LC-CFRS’s Swift Water Rescue Team which consists of two Inflatable Rescue Boats and a Support Vehicle.

The project is a collaboration with Loudoun County Fire and Rescue, Loudoun County Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure, Moseley Architects, Bowman Consulting and Waynesboro Construction.
