Buta Biberaj was sworn in as Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney December 20, 2019, as were the men and women who will serve as deputy commonwealth’s attorneys.
Biberaj was elected in November 2019. Her term in office began January 1, 2020.
Biberaj has practiced as a defense attorney in Loudoun County for over 25 years and a substitute judge for over 11 years. A longstanding member of the Loudoun County Bar Association, Biberaj served as president for the 2014-2015 term.
Biberaj practiced as a trial attorney in Loudoun County for over 25 years. In 2006, she was appointed as a substitute judge for the 20th Judicial District, and served on the bench for 11 years.
Biberaj is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of the United States and all state and appellate courts in Virginia, Maryland and New York. She received an undergraduate degree in education from George Mason University and her juris doctorate from the Antonin Scalia Law School.
