25 YEAR OLD MAN SENTENCED FOR
THEFTS IN SOUTH RIDING AND STERLING
JUDGE IMPOSES 4 YEARS IN PRISON
LEESBURG, Virginia – Victor Tayon Ellis, 25, of Alexandria was charged with eight felonies after being identified by law enforcement, and later admitting to a Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Detective, that he was the individual responsible for thefts from unlocked vehicles, residential garages, and homes in South Riding and Sterling in late January 2013.
Ellis pleaded guilty to four felony charges of breaking and entering and one count of felony credit card theft on July 8, 2013. On August 23, 2013, the Hon. Thomas D. Horne sentenced Ellis to serve an active sentence of four years in prison, and placed Ellis on supervised probation for five years upon his release. Horne also imposed an additional ten years of suspended time.
Ellis’ prior criminal history includes convictions for auto theft, credit card theft, receiving stolen property, and burglary. Additionally, he had repeated criminal contact with the juvenile court system.
Ellis is scheduled to appear in Loudoun County Circuit Court on September 13, 2013 for a restitution hearing, at which time the Commonwealth will argue that Ellis make restitution in excess of $5,000 to four victims who were affected by his thefts.
