Lane Closure on Cornwall Street for Utility and Streetscape Improvements Beginning April 5

Posted on April 5, 2023 at 10:51 AM by Heidi Kellum

Utility and streetscape improvements on Cornwall Street, between Church Street and Slack Lane, will start today, April 5, and continue through the end of the week, weather permitting. Construction crews will be working on underground stormwater system improvements, sidewalks and concrete aprons on the south side of Cornwall Street, directly adjacent to the new Courthouse construction entrance on the opposite side of Cornwall Street from the Semones Parking Lot. One lane of traffic will remain open while this work occurs, and no disruptions to residential streetside parking is expected.

This construction is part of the Loudoun County Courthouse Complex expansion project that includes the design and construction of the new 92,000-square-foot Loudoun County District Courthouse and renovation of existing courts facilities, including new parking facilities.

Visitors to the Loudoun County Courthouse will continue to have access to free parking throughout the duration of the project at the Pennington Lot and Pennington Garage which are  located approximately two blocks from the courthouse near the intersection of Church and North Streets, NE. View parking details and a map of the shuttle route and walking path in this flyer (PDF).
